On November 22nd and 23rd, ELaRA (European Laboratory for Pedagogical Action-Research and Student-Centered Learning) held its first event : an Autumn Symposium on the theme « Post-Pandemic Pedagogies ». Due to the pandemic context, this event was held online and was followed by over a 100 participants throughout the consortium (teachers, researchers, students and academic staff).

During the event, the members of ELaRA organized different interventions : lectures, presentations, workshops and round tables, to share their experience with teaching and learning during the Covid crisis. The idea was not only to look upon the past, but to engage reflections on the future of online pedagogies in the perspective of hybridation of teaching and learning. Speakers from the 8 partner universities presented their research, educational projects, pedagogical devices and experiments involving online pedagogies. For example, the subjects of student emotions, online assessments or peer observation were presented and discussed.

In the construction of this event, it was essential for ELaRA to involve students and give them an opportunity to share their experiences, points of view and recommandations. As examples, Rebecca Gorman, former President of TU Dublin’s Student Union gave a presentation on student experience during the Covid crisis, and a round table was organized by H_DA in which students shared their opinions and discussed their needs regarding online learning.

The members of ELaRA wish to thank all participants to this event. More events revolving around pedagogy are coming up during the year 2022, including a Summer School in July 2022.
