Melita Menelaou is our EUt+ Women Wednesday of the week!
Melita Menelaou is a Chemical Engineer, PhD educated, with extensive experience in multidisciplinary research in the broad field of Materials and Materials Engineering – synthesis, characterization, and applications of traditional and advanced materials. During her career, she enhanced her scientific knowledge and expertise as a member of respected research groups in Japan – Advanced Institute of Materials Research (WPI-AIMR), Tohoku University, Czechia –Central European Institute of Technology-Brno University of Technology (CEITEC-BUT), Spain - University of Barcelona, and Greece – School of Chemical Engineering, and School of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
Since September 2020, Dr Menelaou is working as a Special Teaching Staff (Department of Chemical Engineering) at the Cyprus University of Technology where she is teaching both core and specialization courses and, she is also responsible for the Internship (Practical Training) of the undergraduate Chemical Engineering students.
Dr Menelaou participates in the EUt+ project in Work Package 3 (Common plan for the Europeanization of Apprenticeship and Lifelong Learning) – Task 3.3 (Apprenticeship and Lifelong Learning), which is focused on the implementation of different programmes (industry, academia, etc) that can contribute to the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate students/learners' skills and competencies within Europe.
About the EUt+ alliance, Melita says: “think human first”: a statement where technological improvement is focused on improving the life of everyone in a diverse and inclusive culture - this is exactly the future we need to aim for the generation to come. Well Done EUT+!
