Beatriz Miguel Hernández is the only woman among the 8 rectors of EUt+ and also the first woman rector in the history of the four polytechnic universities in Spain. She holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences and is the author of two patents.
She has directed the Technical University of Cartagena since July 2020 and was previously vice-rector for Research, during which time she encouraged scientific dissemination programmes and the promotion of STEM vocations among young women.
The development of the European University of Technology is the priority of her mandate and she personally participates actively in EUt+, attending whenever possible the face-to-face meetings in the different countries.
"Europe is aware that changes must come through the universities and we have received an enthusiastic support for the consortium from the European Union", highlighted the UPCT rector.
