More than 120 representatives of the 8 universities members have worked on the activities and the workpackage meetings during this week
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) hosted one of the most important academic events of the year last week, a meeting of representatives from the 8 member universities in the European University of Technology EUt+. The meeting was organised after the submission of the second phase of the EUt+ initiative to the European Commission at the end of January.
The opening took place on Tuesday, March 7th, in the Ballroom Conference Room at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel.
More than 120 participants – academics, researchers and students from the member universities of the consortium, together with their rectors and presidents, focused on the current and future steps of work in different directions. The Secretary General of the EUt+ Alliance, Timothée Toury, presented the vision and ambitions of the consortium given the newly submitted application.
During the opening session, the event Women in Tech - Good practices to empower and promote women in technology careers took place. Female personalities from large companies in Cluj-Napoca attended a session highlighting the perspective on the profession, management and entrepreneurship among women with careers in technology.
The working groups meeting in Cluj focused on education, mobility and research. The three education clusters: Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, and Mechanical Engineering, continued the harmonisation of the curriculum by defining learning outcomes, competencies and initiating a mobility map for Master studies after those for Bachelor studies had been established in previous meetings. In parallel, the working groups preceding the Microelectronics and Computer Science clusters have started their collaboration.
Meetings on research strategy also took place in the European Research Office (ERO) and the European Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (EITTO), in parallel with the Research Committee meetings.
