A hundred representatives from the 8 partners of EUt+ were join and met in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, from the 21st of March to the 25th of March.
Researchers, teachers, students and non-academic staff from the 8 Universities of Troyes (France), Darmstadt (Germany), Dublin (Ireland), Limassol (Cyprus), Riga (Latvia), Sofia (Bulgaria), Cartagena (Spain) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania), partners in the EUt+ , were continuing the co-building of the future European University of Technology.
The Cluj meeting was an important step in the progress and construction of the European University of Technology. Over 100 representatives, as well as the rectors and presidents of the partner institutions, were focus on various stages of the process, approaches, and actions to be taken in research, curricula, mobilities, European institutes development and research laboratories. Since its beginning, the project has made significant progress to prepare a common framework for competencies for European University of Technology graduates, for Batchelor’s and Master’s degrees, in order to access a Common European Diploma. To this purpose, a number of educational clusters have been set up which allow students to study in the eight campuses of the European University of Technology. Currently, the work focused on the convergence of competencies and learning outcomes in the programmes of study which are part of the Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications clusters. This working session in Cluj gathers representatives of the work packages involved in mobility programmes for students and staff, in the procedure for carrying out the mobilities in the linguistic diversity environment of the eight partners and in the management of research and research institutes which have been or will be set up by the Alliance.
The week in Cluj was also host the rectors’ meeting. Through action and decisions, they were reaffirmed their ambition to build one university based on comprehensive integration of all eight campuses. The vision of this new university will become reality in the experiences of the EUt+ students. At the same time, the rectors were stated and made public their official position as a common and unique voice of the European University of Technology with regard to the military activities in Ukraine.
The meeting of the European University of Technology, which is being held in Cluj-Napoca for the second time, will give new impetus to this technological European campus made of eight universities from eight European Union countries.
